"o'hana
nights" The CDM Foundation's Annual Fundraiser Gala
was held on Saturday, May 2nd,
2009 at the Historic Balboa Pavillion, Newport Beach.
The CdM Foundation’s annual Neptune Ball was held on May 2
at the Harborside Pavilion and again was a great success. The Hawaiian themed evening, o’Hana Nights, brought together
over 230 CdM families, faculty and friends. o’Hana is Hawaiian for family and community and in continuing the tradition established in 2008, the Foundation honored
two extraordinary individuals, Jim and Nadine Turner, who truly exemplify family and community. From their active support
of CdM track, and cross country, to Nadine’s PTA leadership, the Turners have truly impacted the lives of the students
of CdM on a daily basis. This year will mark the end of the Turner’s tenure at CdM as their youngest of four, Maddie,
is a member of the class of 2010. The evening was filled with
great food, dancing, silent and live auctions and proceeds totaled over $95,000. Auction items ranged from dinners to local
restaurants to vacations in Hawaii and Mammoth Lakes. Carol Carlile, chair, would like to again thank everyone who attended
and made the evening such a success and thank the committee, especially Carol Dalton and Patsy Marshall who chair the underwriting
committee and Kathy Cole, who was the creative force of the event website and program.
